Claim Stakes allow you to produce resources from planets in C4 PTR.
This guide explains how to place a Claim Stake, build the required Core Hub, fuel the Claim Stake, and start production.
Important: Once a Claim Stake and its buildings have been placed, they cannot be removed.
Before you start
This guide shows the process using the CSS, your faction’s main base.
The same process can be used at other bases, but if you want to build outside of the CSS, you must transport the Claim Stake to that base using one of your fleets.
This guide does not provide advice on where to place your Claim Stake or how you should upgrade it. That decision is up to you.
Step 1: Turn on God Mode
During PTR, you may need to enable God Mode to avoid research requirements for placing a Claim Stake.
To turn on God Mode:
- Exit any menu you are currently in and return to the main map.
- Click the Council Rank icon in the top-right menu bar.
- Click the God Mode node near the top middle of the Council Rank tree.
- Click Start Research in the bottom-right corner.
- Refresh your browser.
Step 2: Choose a base
Next, choose the base where you want to place your Claim Stake.
For this tutorial, you can use the CSS.
To enter the CSS:
Click Go To CSS in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Click Enter Starbase.
You can also enter another base from the map, but you may need to zoom in to select it.
Step 3: Open the Claims menu
Once inside the Starbase:
Click Claims at the bottom of the Starbase menu on the left.
Select the planet where you want to place your Claim Stake.
Click Place New Claim Stake.
Each planet can yield different resources, so choose carefully.
Step 4: Place your Claim Stake
After opening the Claim Stake placement screen:
Select the Claim Stake you want to build from the options on the right.
Click Place Claim Stake.
You will then arrive at the main build screen for your Claim Stake.
Every Claim Stake requires a Core Hub before it can become active.
Step 5: Check the required Core Hub materials
The Core Hub must match the tier of your Claim Stake.
For example, if you placed a T5 Claim Stake, you need a T5 Core Hub.
To check the required materials:
Click the + icon next to the required Core Hub.
- Review the required components.
- Write down the requirements or take a screenshot.
You will need these components before you can build the Core Hub.
Step 6: Gather the required components
To build the Core Hub, you need to gather the required components.
This may involve forming fleets, mining raw goods, and crafting the required materials.
Once you have the required components:
- Return to the base where your Claim Stake is placed.
- Click Enter Starbase.
- Click Claims in the Starbase menu.
Select your Claim Stake from the right side of the screen.
Click the green Build button on the right side of your Claim Stake.
You will return to the Claim Stake build menu.
Step 7: Build the Core Hub
Once you are back in the build menu:
Click the + icon next to the Core Hub that matches your Claim Stake tier.
- Make sure all required resources are shown in green.
Click Apply in the bottom-left corner of the menu.
After the Core Hub is built, your Claim Stake can be activated.
Step 8: Fuel the Claim Stake
Fuel is required for a Claim Stake to start producing resources.
To fuel your Claim Stake, you must transfer fuel using one of your fleets.
Important fuel notes:
- Use Cargo Hold Fuel.
- Fuel Pod fuel cannot be used to load a Claim Stake.
- The fleet must be undocked and idle.
To prepare the fleet:
- Go to the Starbase menu.
- Click Hangar.
- Select one of your fleets, or create one.
- Load the fleet with Cargo Hold Fuel.
- Undock the fleet.
- Leave the fleet idle and undocked.
Step 9: Transfer fuel to the Claim Stake
Once your fleet is idle and loaded with Cargo Hold Fuel:
- Click Claims in the Starbase menu.
- Select your Claim Stake from the right side.
Click Transfer Cargo near the top middle of the menu.
- Find your fleet in the Idle Fleets box on the bottom-left.
- Select the fleet.
- Click MAX next to the Cargo Hold Fuel.
Click Dispatch Transfer in the bottom-right corner.
This will start the cargo transfer to your Claim Stake.
Step 10: Complete the transfer
When the cargo transfer is complete, your fleet will appear in the Active Transfers box.
To finish the transfer:
Find the fleet in Active Transfers.
- Click the green Ready button next to the fleet.
Your Claim Stake now has the required fuel and should begin producing resources.
Step 11: Keep your Claim Stake running
Your Claim Stake needs regular maintenance to keep producing.
Remember:
- You must keep your Claim Stake fueled.
- Claim Stakes have limited cargo space.
- Storage upgrades can increase cargo space.
- If the Claim Stake cargo becomes full, it will stop producing resources.
- Withdraw resources regularly to keep production active.
What to do next
Once your Claim Stake is active, you can withdraw produced resources using a fleet with empty cargo space.
